Lawrence V. Salutz (1926-2016)

Lawrence was born on November 1, 1926 in Reedsburg, WI to the late Leo and Anna (Sweeney) Salutz. At age 17, he enlisted in the US Navy and served in WWII in the Pacific. After the war he returned to Valders and graduated with the class of 1946 of Valders High School. He attended St. Norbert College on the GI Bill and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School. On September 2, 1950 he married Carol Rose Krall at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clarks Mills, WI. He began his legal career in Madison and Milwaukee working for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, Continental Casualty Insurance and State Farm Insurance. In 1960, he moved to Manitowoc and began to practice law. He was the founding partner of Salutz & Salutz, LLP where he continued to work until his last illness.
He also was appointed Manitowoc County's first Juvenile Court Commissioner and served for many years.He served on many civic and community organizations including Manitowoc Library Board, Manitowoc County Hospital Board, Roncalli High School Board of Education, Holy Innocents Church Council and he was a long time member of the Holy Innocents Men's Choir.
